Doug has had various careers from coaching high school and college football, working in the oil business as a land man, to software sales. In 2006 his son-in-law Max Tribble and daughter Brittney approached him about managing their two 32 lane bowling centers. From 2006 to 2011 he worked on growing the centers league play and open bowling business. As part of the learning process, studying the Family Entertainment market place was what he could envision for MaxBowl. Upon recommendation, to Max and Brittney in Oct 2011 they purchased a 60,000 square foot, 40 lane center in Port Arthur, Texas. Today MaxBowl Port Arthur has a 2500 square bar and grill, 45 video games with a redemption counter, birthday party rooms and a 3,800 square foot two story Laser Tag arena. In November 2014 they finished their second conversion in Humble, Texas, adding 13,000 sq. ft. to the building that includes 68 games, redemption center, 4,500 sq. ft. two story Laser Tag arena, Sky Trail, 8 lane VIP section, Large Bar/Grill, Private Party Rooms. Starting September 2016, Max Bowl will start their third remodel for the Baytown location. This center will go from being a bowling center to a full blown Family Entertainment Center having laser tag, sky trail, bar and grill, video games, party rooms and a state of the art go Kart
