• Current President of the AES Dominicana Group and AES Dominicana Foundation. • From 2004 to March 2014, he has served as legal consultant and as Legal Vice-President, being Director and Member of the various Administration Boards/Boards of Directors in AES Andres, DPP and Itabo in different terms. Born in 1968, Edwin studied Law in the Dominican Republic and furthered his professional education with Master’s Degrees in Business, Judicial Studies, and International Trade. His professional practice has covered the areas of foreign investment, energy and fuels, and litigations. • In the year 2001 he joined the Government of the Dominican Republic as an International Trade Specialist, serving as National Coordinator for the Free Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA). As a member of the Dominican negotiation team, he participated in negotiations in the areas of market access, investments, services, competition policies, special customs regimes, subsidies, and antidumping. • He has participated in negotiations on trade agreements such as CARICOM, Central America, and Panama. He has applied with the World Trade Organization in Geneva, Switzerland, Committee of Subsidies and Countervailing Measures. He acted as negotiator before the Department of State of the United States of America and US trade representative for the entry of the Dominican Republic into the DR-CAFTA. • He acted as consultant of the Dominican Republic Negotiation Office for the DR-CAFTA on market access, services, investments, textiles, and apparel. He has written several newpaper articles on international trade for local newspapers and has participated as guest speaker in various international trade forums.
