Jeremy Romero begin his law enforcement career in 2000 where he completed the New Mexico Corrections Academy and received the Marksmanship award for his class. In 2003 Jeremy became a commissioned Police Officer and graduated from the New Mexico Law Enforcement Academy in 2004. Throughout his over 17 years of Law Enforcement experience, Jeremy has obtained over 2 thousand hours of advanced training and currently holds an advanced Law Enforcement certification and also serves as a Law Enforcement instructor in numerous fields. In 2014 Jeremy was involved in a pursuit of murder suspects while working for the Corrales Police Department and crashed his patrol car and sustained catastrophic injuries which caused paraplegia. After year of intense physical therapy Jeremy was evaluated at TIRR Memorial Hermann in Houston Texas for Rewalk, an exoskeleton that would allow Jeremy to walk again. Upon completion of the evaluation, it was determined that Jeremy was a candidate for the Rewalk. He was able to obtain a Rewalk for home use and was the first paralyzed police officer in the united states to use the Rewalk.
