Galena Park ISD


Thao Vo is a registered dietitian with a passion for child nutrition. Thao received her bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Houston and her Master’s degree in Clinical Nutrition from Texas Tech University. She went on to complete her dietetic internship at Lenoir-Rhyne University with a focus on childhood obesity. Currently serving as the assistant director for menu planning at Galena Park ISD, she is responsible for developing menus that comply with federal and state regulations while also incorporating feedback from students and staff. She also oversees all special diet requests in her district as well as the CACFP-At-Risk program and Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program. Thao is dedicated to staying up-to-date on the latest research and food trends and enjoys sharing her knowledge with others through nutrition education. In her free time, she enjoys pottery, crocheting, cooking, and spending time with her 2 cats.
