Association of Rhode Island Administrators of Special Education (ARIASE)


Breta serves as the Executive Director of the Association of Rhode Island Administrators of Special Education (ARIASE), where she provides leadership and strategic support to special education directors across Rhode Island’s public, private, and charter schools. In this role, she works collaboratively with state and local education leaders to strengthen systems, promote best practices, and improve outcomes for students with disabilities across the state. Prior to her current role, Breta served as Director of Pupil Personnel Services for the South Kingstown School Department. She previously held the position of Assistant Director of Pupil Personnel and began her career in education as a special education teacher in South Kingstown, where she taught for nine years before moving into district leadership. Breta’s career has been dedicated to developing and supporting high-quality systems of services for preschool and school-age students with diverse learning and behavioral needs. Her work has focused on ensuring effective implementation of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, with a commitment to ensuring students with disabilities receive a free and appropriate public education in the least restrictive environment. In addition to her leadership in education, Breta serves as a Licensed Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), providing behavioral consultation and support to school districts and adult service programs.
