Kirstie Pottmeyer serves as the Deputy Assistant Commissioner for the Office of Accounting at the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Bureau of the Fiscal Service. She provides executive leadership for government‑wide accounting operations and drives initiatives that enhance the transparency and reliability of federal financial reporting. Kirstie previously served as Director of the General Fund Accounting Division, where she advanced the auditability of the U.S. General Fund—often referred to as America’s Bank Account—and led major efforts to modernize reporting models and strengthen end‑to‑end financial data quality. Her leadership contributed to significant reductions in intragovernmental transaction (IGT) differences by trillions of dollars, improving alignment across federal agencies and strengthening government‑wide financial integrity. With nearly two decades of federal financial management experience, Kirstie is a frequent contributor to interagency work on audit readiness, internal controls, and financial reporting. She graduated from Marietta College in Marietta, Ohio, and works in Parkersburg, West Virginia.
