William Johnson is a seasoned cybersecurity executive and decorated military veteran with over two decades of experience securing national interests and pioneering digital resilience across the public and private sectors. A proud native of Tennessee, William served in the United States Army for eleven years as a signal officer and holds two degrees, a Master of Science in Information Technology and a Bachelor of Business Administration. During his military career, Captain Johnson held pivotal roles including forward deployed signal officer with the 2nd Infantry Division during Operation Iraqi Freedom, company commander with the 15th Signal Brigade at Fort Gordon, and communications advisor to the Malian Army. His strategic leadership extended to national defense efforts as a military liaison at the National Security Agency (NSA), and as chief of the Network and Cybersecurity Operations Centers with Joint Task Force Guantanamo Bay (JTF GTMO). William continued shaping cyber defense policy and infrastructure as a cyber operations planner at U.S. Cyber Command and later as senior cybersecurity engineer at the Department of Defense Consolidated Adjudications Facility. His expertise deepened through contracted roles at NSA’s Cybersecurity Directorate and the Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), where he managed critical information security programs. Today, William serves as Chief of Software Product Delivery for ZT ROAM, an automated Zero Trust assessment platform developed by Tensley Consulting Inc., where he leads innovation in IT and OT architecture security. William spoke earlier this year at TechNet Cyber in Baltimore where he discussed Zero Trust in Operational Technology: Adapting Modern Security Frameworks for Legacy Industrial Environments.
