Sylvia Greeff grew up in the Limpopo province of South Africa on a large family owned game ranch on the Olifants River, now a part of the 'Greater Kruger National Park’. As part of a 7 th generation South African, growing up in Big 5 wild country and in a region of established professional hunting and safaris, it was easy to develop a deep interest and love for Africa's wildlife. Meeting Matt in 1989 as a young professional hunter /guide and getting married in 1994 was the start of a new chapter and together they have formed a reputable and well known Safari team, offering discerning guests some of the most personable and exciting Hunting & Big 5 Photographic trips to Africa, with a long list of very satisfied clients from all over the world. An accomplished rifle, shotgun & bow shot in her own right, both in national competitions and in the field, she has also fished and hunted in several countries throughout the world, putting her very much in touch with the guiding business, international travel and the guests we look after on their organized safari trips and tours. In addition to enjoying the beautiful scenery and incredible birdlife of our own Gold Valley Lodge / game ranch near Nelspruit, Mpumalanga, family time with her 2 daughters and now a first granddaughter ,her ‘green fingers keeping her busy in her garden, it is her love of cooking and entertaining guests with tasty wild game dishes & new recipes that has really set her apart. Sylvia’s variety of food presentations served, have become well renowned and made for many a happy ‘Matthew Greeff Safaris’ guest around the dining table. Her vast knowledge of the safari outfitting business over the past 35+ years, her own unique personality and free spirit and so many return clientele that have become dear friends, are all indicators of a very special Lady !
