Dana Dykema

Host of Ignite Podcast


Dana Dykema is a wife, mother of 4 teenage kids and the host of the latest addition to the Women Hunt program, the Ignite Podcast. Dana has always had an entrepreneurial spirit and has tried numerous ventures from furniture restoration, to selling beauty products, to starting her own farm to table distribution company in 2021. Each one taught her new skills and brought her different opportunities. It was when she was running her business that she got connected to folks in the hunting and conservation community, which is where she has felt she's finally felt she's found her niche and her people. At the end of 2023 she decided to become a hunter herself and took her firearms and hunting licenses. Her husband also only became a hunter in recent years so now they enjoy discovering this newfound interest together as much as they can. In 2024 she joined Mark Hall at Wild Origins Canada learning about issues facing hunters, trappers, anglers and firearms owners. She would co-host with him and hosted a series called "Our Stories Connect Us All" on the Hunter Conservationist podcast. In November 2024 while on a short hunting trip with her youngest son, she successfully harvested a mule deer buck, her first game animal. She has volunteered with her local BHA chapter, Wild Sheep Society of BC and is an active member of North Shore Fish & Game Club in her city. Dana looks forward to building strong connections here at the Wild Sheep Foundation and doing her part to forward the conservation goals of the organization so kids like hers and others have the opportunity to enjoy our wild places and the animals that live there. She also is excited for future hunting opportunities to grow in her confidence in the outdoors and to have some good adventures under her belt.
