Kurt joined the Wild Sheep Foundation in 2015 after a 32-year career with Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks, where he served as a wildlife area manager, biologist, and Wildlife Manager for southwest Montana. He managed wild sheep and goat populations across western Montana, including the state’s unique unlimited bighorn sheep hunts. With over 40 years in wildlife management, Kurt has lectured across Europe and participated in manager-to-manager exchanges in East Africa, Argentina, the Russian Far East, and Europe. He is a German-certified lead hunting instructor for U.S. and Canadian troops stationed in Germany and currently serves as President of the Northwest Section of The Wildlife Society. A Summit Life Member and Montana Chapter Life Member of WSF, Kurt holds BS and MS degrees in Fish and Wildlife Management from Montana State University. Originally from Butte, MT, he lives between Germany and the U.S., where his wife teaches and his son pursues a doctorate.
