Mary Watson

Mary Watson has an extensive background in general education, special education and administration including work at the local, state and national level. In her work with the OSEP Funded Technical Assistance Centers, (IDC and NCSI) she supports state directors in building their capacity to lead effective systems focused on improving outcomes for students with disabilities. She also assists states in improving their systems of General Supervision as well as data quality and data use. Prior to her work with IDC and NCSI, she served as the state director of special education for the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, was on the board for the National Association of State Directors and served as President of the organization. She also worked as a professional development specialist with the National Council of Exceptional Children and served as a Governor of the National Organization. Mary lives in Raleigh, North Carolina with her husband, Ed.
