Brittany Hott
Professor Special Education

Dr. Brittany Hott is an associate director of the Institute for Community and Society Transformation (ICAST) and professor of special education at the University of Oklahoma. Her work focuses on instructional methods for students with learning and behavioral disabilities, assessment and evaluation in rural education, and the translation of special education research to rural practice. Along with colleagues, Dr. Hott has secured research and personnel preparation grants totaling over 30 million. Her recent work appears in the Journal of Special Education, Behavior Modification, Behavior Analysis in Practice, and Learning Disability Quarterly. Dr. Hott is the recipient of the American Council on Rural Special Education's Research and Evaluation Award and is an active member of the special education community. She is the editor of Rural Special Education Quarterly and serves as the American Council for Rural Special Education (ACRES) research chair.
