Dr. Brigid Bright brings over two decades of experience in special education and leadership to her role as Associate Executive Director for the Council of Administrators of Special Education (CASE). With a strong foundation in the field, a seasoned speaker at state and national conferences, and extensive service on various professional boards/task forces, Dr. Bright is established as a trusted voice in the field of special education. Prior to this role, Dr. Bright served as CASE's Director of Communication and Membership. Before joining CASE Staff, Dr. Bright was an active member of the CASE Policy and Advocacy Committee and a two-term elected president of the Arkansas Association of Special Education Administrators. In both roles, Brigid collaborated on initiatives to advance the field and advocate for policy changes benefiting students with disabilities.In addition to her advocacy work, Dr. Bright served in the public school setting first as a special education teacher and later as the Director of Special Services for the Harrison School District, in Harrison, Arkansas. Through these roles, Brigid demonstrated a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing special education administrators and educators. With a passion for policy and advocacy in special education, Dr. Bright is dedicated to ensuring the promise of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) is fulfilled for all students. Her commitment extends to supporting leaders in special education by providing mentorship, guidance, and resources to empower professionals in the field. Brigid Bright resides in Harrison, Arkansas with her husband, Chuck and two children Liam and Regan. She enjoys all the outdoor activities the Ozarks have to offer, cheering on the Razorbacks, and traveling.
