Bonnie O’Regan is a nationally recognized administrator in gifted and talented education, with extensive experience, education, and training in the field. She began her teaching career in 1988 as a classroom instructor for sixth through eighth-grade students in general education, Art, Physical Education, and Music in rural Nebraska. A year later, she transitioned to a role as a gifted and talented teacher for a school district in Iowa, where she also served as the program’s Coordinator, overseeing the identification and evaluation of gifted students. During her ten-year tenure in this role, she additionally worked as a mathematics instructor for the Academically Challenging Experiences for Students (ACES) program. In 1999, Ms. O’Regan relocated to the East Coast and joined Greenwich Public Schools as an Advanced Learning Program (ALP) teacher. She has been an active member of the Connecticut Association for the Gifted, where she has served on the Board, as Treasurer, and as President. Additionally, she represented Connecticut on the planning committee for the New England Conference on Gifted and Talented. Beyond her ALP teaching responsibilities, she also served as Riverside School’s Math Facilitator and taught Greenwich Public Schools’ Summer School Bridge to Advanced Math classes. In 2012, Ms. O’Regan assumed the role of Advanced Learning Program Facilitator. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education, an Endorsement in Talented and Gifted Education, a Master of Science in Gifted Education, a Cross Endorsement in Middle School Mathematics, and a Sixth-Year Certificate in Educational Leadership.
