Tekeyla T. Jones, Ed.S, LCMHCA, is a dedicated educational leader and mental health professional with a passion for student success. As the Assistant Director of Special Education and Student Services for Nash County Public Schools, she oversees exceptional children’s programs, ensuring compliance, budget efficiency, and the implementation of evidence-based interventions to support students' academic, social, and behavioral growth. With over a decade of experience in education, Tekeyla has served as a principal, assistant principal, school counselor, and instructional coach, demonstrating expertise in staff development, student advocacy, and program implementation. She played a pivotal role in launching Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) initiatives, improving student attendance, and fostering inclusive learning environments. In addition to her leadership in education, Tekeyla is the founder and therapist at L.I.F.E. (Living Everyday in Freedom) Counseling Services, PLLC, where she provides mental health support to individuals and families. Her extensive training in leadership, crisis intervention, and restorative practices underscores her commitment to holistic student and community well-being. Currently pursuing a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership at North Carolina State University, Tekeyla remains at the forefront of innovation in special education and student services. She is a proud and active member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., and a passionate advocate for access to education and mental health resources.
