Tanielle Parker
Special Education Chairperson/Student
Prince George's County Public Schools
Tanielle Parker is a dedicated educational leader, advocate, and special educator with over 20 years of experience fostering inclusive and equitable learning environments. She currently serves as a Special Education Chairperson in Prince George’s County Public Schools, leveraging expertise in special education law, curriculum design, and instructional leadership to improve student outcomes. Tanielle’s commitment to equity and excellence began with a Bachelor of Arts in Administration of Justice from the University of the District of Columbia and a Master of Arts in Special Education from The George Washington University. Her career started in 2005 in DC Public Schools, where she developed expertise in differentiated instruction and individualized learning for students with diverse disabilities. She has extensive experience in assessment administration, IEP development, behavior management, and progress monitoring. She has held various roles in both general and special education, including Special Education Coordinator at Friendship Public Charter School, where she improved instructional practices and provided professional development. Certified in Wilson Reading System Level I, she has enhanced literacy outcomes for students with reading disabilities. Currently pursuing a Doctorate in Special Education Leadership at Bowie State University, Tanielle’s research focuses on Restorative Justice Practices. She has presented at the Hawaii International Conference for Educators and the Teacher Educators for Children with Behavior Disorders Conference in Arizona. Her work promotes equitable discipline practices, positive school culture, and student-centered interventions. An active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated and Delta Kappa Gamma Women’s Educational Society, Tanielle remains committed to advancing educational equity, supporting special education excellence, and fostering environments where all students thrive.
