Brian MacPherson has been in the construction industry in Calgary Alberta since the early 1980’s where he started working as a plumbing apprentice with a small firm in Calgary that created a great and steep learning curve for Brian. He was luckily mentored by the company owner who made sure he learned as much as possible about all aspects of medium size Commercial plumbing and became a journeyman Plumber/gasfitter. Eventually the company moved away. In 1986 he then decided to change occupations when he was introduced to the controls industry and again was lucky enough to find another dynamic mentor that he latched on to and stayed and worked in downtown Calgary for the majority of his career he was with that company for 19 years. He then realized that the best way to take care of his customers he had to start his own company called Building Control Guys Inc in 2005. This gave him the versatility to do all aspects of Control work including of Pneumatics and DDC control upgrades, retrofits and new Buildings. Brian has been blessed with industry relationships that have for the most part created lifelong friendships that he truly cherishes with his Commercial building customers, engineers, subcontractors and employees. What he’s found is that in the control industry there is always something else to learn and it’s hard to get bored when you’re always learning something new. Presently Brian and his team have been working together with the Komfort IQ team in the Canadian division office at the Ampersand Building Complex in Calgary Alberta.
