Will is the Southeast Regional Director at SEIA, managing SEIA’s policy and advocacy efforts in Virginia, the Carolinas, Georgia, Florida, Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Arkansas. Prior to SEIA, Will served as the Executive Director for the Hawaii Solar Energy Association where his work focused on policy analysis, creation, and advocacy of clean energy through rooftop solar PV, solar hot water, and energy storage. He has experience in utility policy, solar PV design, natural gas policy, environmental policy, and rate design. Prior to his work in Hawaii, Mr. Giese was a solar PV designer, policy analyst, and EMT. Will holds a bachelors degree in Environmental Public Policy & Sustainable Development from the University of Tennessee and a Masters degree at the University of Hawaii in Public Administration. In his down time Will enjoys hanging with his wife and dog, horseback riding, stand-up paddleboarding, and is working on his private glider pilot’s license.
