Joel grew up in northwest Ohio and graduated from University of Toledo in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with a Structural Engineering focus. He started his career as a structural engineer at an Architectural and Engineering consulting firm in Toledo, OH where he worked on wide variety of projects for industrial, manufacturing, food, material handling, and automotive clients. He is a licensed Professional Engineer with 15 years of experience. In 2014, Joel joined The Andersons and is now the Director of Engineering. He manages a team of engineers and project managers as well as managing capital projects and providing structural assessments at facilities. His specialties in the Ag Industry are structural engineering, capital planning, project management, site inspections, material handling, EHS, and operations.
