Bob joined U. S. Steel in 2014 as the Chief Security Officer and was responsible for enterprise-wide security and emergency services matters. As such, he provided the full range of protection capabilities to include crisis management response, investigative strategies and services to protect the Corporation from financial or other loss, business disruption, fire/EMT response and executive protection. In 2016, the security function was merged with corporate-wide safety and Bob was selected to lead the newly formed organization. He is now responsible for all safety and industrial hygiene matters for the entire Corporation. Additionally, Bob is responsible for the Corporation’s aircraft division, providing efficient, safe and secure travel services for the Corporation. Before joining U. S. Steel, Bob served for 2 years as the Chief Security Officer for Curtiss-Wright Corporation, a cleared defense contractor. He ensured compliance with all Defense Security Service regulations to include the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual and Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information. Previously, Bob served as a Special Agent of the Federal Bureau of Investigation for 25 years, retiring as a member of the Senior Executive Service. During his career, Bob held various leadership roles at several FBI Field Offices and served two assignments at FBI Headquarters. He has a proven track record of achievement in executive leadership and management of highly complex and sensitive criminal, terrorism, and intelligence investigations. Bob holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration/accounting and also earned his Master of Business Administration from Central Michigan University.
