Special Agent (SA) Michelle Blank is currently the COVID Desk Officer at the U.S. Small Business Administration Office of Inspector General (SBA-OIG). In this role, SA Blank is responsible for nationwide coordination of the investigative work involving the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) and the COVID Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) Program. Many of these investigations involve instances where fraudsters have wrongly received taxpayers’ dollars set-aside for small businesses in need by providing falsified documents or stolen personal identification information. Through SA Blank’s leadership and expertise, she has assisted in the facilitation of a coordinated “whole of government” law enforcement response to rampant fraud identified in SBA’s COVID programs
