Brian West currently leads the design team for Cox's IP/MPLS and DWDM networks. At Cox, Brian has led and participated in many network transformations including multiple rounds of IP and optical hardware refreshes, Cox's settlement free Internet peering architectures, long haul DWDM transition to a CDC based architecture, nationwide OTN deployments, and RSVP-TE/FRR/Auto-bandwidth/CBF LSP architectures. He has 20 years of experience in telecommunications. During his 17 years at Cox Communications, he has held several roles including Backbone Operations Engineer, Peering Coordinator, IP NOC Manager, Design Engineer, and Design Manager. Brian joined Cox from NetRail, where he worked in a NOC supporting business services over IP and ATM networks.
