Dean Teffer is Vice President of Engineering at Slingshot Aerospace, an early stage startup focusing on sensor integration and interactive data analytics in the space situational awareness and geospatial intelligence industries. He has over 20 years of experience in R&D focused on computational statistics and machine learning, including bringing multiple data-driven products to market. Previously, he was Director of Data Science at JASK, an enterprise security startup where he led both data science and data engineering teams across ingestion, automated detection, and interactive / collaborative learning. Prior to that, he was Principal Investigator for a portfolio of DoD and Intel Community programs including applied research and a multi-year operational counter-intelligence platform. He also founded and sold a startup in the vehicular traffic space to Siemens US. Dean has a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from UT Austin and a Masters in Physics also from UT Austin.
