Over the last 20 years, Steven Wilcenski has been developing technologies and products on the micro and nano-scale for markets including Defense, Aerospace, Biomedical, Automotive, Communications and Consumer Electronics. These products have helped to protect war-fighters, been implanted in human bodies, explored the surface of Mars and are critical components in many electronic devices that are a part of our everyday lives. Mr. Wilcenski has served in many capacities through his career and these range from Process Engineering through Executive roles. He has been responsible for Managing Projects and Programs, Supply Chains, Customer relationships and he has extensive experience in developing Commercialization Plans for products that include novel technologies. In 2016, Mr. Wilcenski Co-Founded BNNano, Inc. BNNano is an advanced manufacturing company based in Burlington, NC that has developed a high volume, high purity process to manufacture Boron Nitride Nanotubes. This process is capable of manufacturing Boron Nitride Nanotubes of purities more than 90% and can currently support volumes more than kilograms/week and is easily scalable to meet market demands. BNNano is also actively developing products that will utilize the exceptional and unique properties of Boron Nitride Nanotubes. This experience with the manufacture of Boron Nitride Nanotubes will provide the basis for the research proposed. As part of the BNNano team, Mr. Wilcenski has developed processes to customize the Boron Nitride Nanotubes dependent on the intended application. Steve has a BS in Materials Science and Engineering from NCSU, an MS in Chemistry from Clemson University and an MBA from North Carolina State University.
