Molly K. Mulligan, Ph.D. is the Director of Commercialization Strategies at Space Commerce Matters. Prior to SCM, Molly spent one year at the Center for the Advancement of Science in Space [CASIS] managing and capturing customers from the pharmaceutical and biotech arena, as well as helping with open innovation competition programs. All of this was done with the aim of generating commercial demand for research on the International Space Station National Lab [ISS NL]. Molly also worked for one the hardware providers for research in low earth orbit [LEO], SpacePharma. At SpacePharma, Molly headed up the hardware team that built the payloads for executing biological research experiments in LEO, as well as working as a technical business development agent. Molly has a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Her research focused on microfluidic devices and how droplets behave on the micron scale. Molly did her post doctoral work in Biomedical Engineering at the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology. At the Technion, Molly's work continued to focus on microfluidic devices, this time looking at organ-on-chip systems that were breathing lung models.
