Aaron Gershenfeld enters his second season as the recruiting coordinator and hitting coach at The Citadel. In the first year under Gershenfeld’s guidance, The Citadel’s offense saw improvements in 12 statistical categories, including an increase in slugging percentage, hits, doubles, triples, RBIs, on-base percentage, runs scored and stolen bases. The teams saw a 28 point increase in the batting average, while lowering the total number of team strikeouts by 99. Several players experienced career years offensively in 2018 under Gershenfeld’s coaching. This is Gershenfeld’s second stint with the Bulldogs after previously serving as the volunteer assistant at The Citadel in 2015. He also has spent time at Vanderbilt working with the Commodores’ hitters and catchers and East Tennessee State as the team’s hitting coach.
