Andre Butler

Andre Butler completed his third season on the Penn State coaching staff in 2018 and his first as the team’s primary hitting coach. Prior to being named hitting coach, Butler was the Nittany Lions’ volunteer assistant coach. Butler also works with Penn State’s outfielders, dubbed The “Graveyard”. Prior to Penn State, Butler spent the 2015 season as an assistant coach at DeSales University in Center Valley, Pennsylvania, where he worked with the hitters, outfielders, and base runners. For the 2013 and 2014 seasons, Butler served as an assistant at the University of Pennsylvania, where he worked primarily with the outfielders. Prior to his stint at Penn, Butler spent one season as an assistant coach at Swarthmore College. Butler has also been active in the Philadelphia-area community, where he started his own tee ball league called the "Jackie Robinson West Philly League" for boys and girls ages eight and under. The league was affiliated with the Major League Baseball Urban Youth Academy.
