Dan McDonnell was hired as Head Coach at the University of Louisville in June 2006. In 12 sea-sons with the Cardinals, McDonnell’s teams have posted a .713 winning percentage, ranking McDonnell in the top-five nationally among active coaches in career winning percentage. McDonnell, who also serves on the ABCA’s Board of Directors, has been named ACC Coach of the Year three times and has made 11 NCAA Regional appearances, seven NCAA Super Region-al appearances (including five straight) and four College World Series appearances. In McDonnell's 12 seasons as head coach, 76 Louisville players have been selected in the MLB Draft with 64 of those signing professional contracts.
