o Travis Hergert enters his seventh season as the head baseball Coach at North Iowa Area Community College. In six seasons with Hergert at the helm, the NIACC baseball program has won 228 games and claimed three Region IX Regional tournament championships, three North Plains titles and made three trips to the NJCAA Div. II World Series. Hergert was honored with the 2013, 2015 and 2016 ABCA/Diamond NJCAA Division II North Plains District Coach of the Year Award and won the two-year College Coach of the Year Award by the Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association in 2013, 2015 and 2016. Since Hergert has skippered the program, 20 players have signed to play Division I baseball. Prior to becoming NIACC head coach, Hergert spent eight seasons as the pitching coach.
