Greg Brown, the 2016 ABCA/Diamond National Coach of the Year in NCAA Div. II, has spent nearly a decade at Nova Southeastern University. Brown has turned the Sharks into a perennial power, ranking in the top 10 nationally every season, including 2017 when they opened the year ranked No. 1. The Sharks have made Regional appearances in six of Brown’s eight seasons at helm. His 2016 club, won the program’s first-ever NCAA Div. II National Championship and set a program record with 44 wins. Prior to NSU, Brown served as the South Florida and Puerto Rico Area Scout for the Houston Astros for the 2009 and 2010 MLB First-Year Player Draft, where he signed MLB players, J.D. Martinez and Kike Hernandez. Before his two-year run with the Astros, Brown served as an assistant coach for one season at Broward Community College, where he worked primarily with the hitters and catchers. He was also the Director of Baseball Operations and Partner with Perfect Competition, Inc. from 2005-2007.
