Lisa Safarian is the Commercial Operations head for Crop Science, North America, at Bayer. Lisa is a seasoned business leader with proven experience managing international functions. Prior to joining Bayer in August 2018, Lisa led Monsanto’s North America business where she was responsible for a team of more than 3,500 employees and an $8 billion corn, soy, cotton, specialty crops, licensing and crop protection business that spans the U.S., Canada and Latin America North. Lisa was a member of Monsanto’s Executive Team Operations Council, a decision-making body comprised of select senior leaders and executive team members, and a member of the company’s Advisory Council. Prior to that, Lisa held the roles of Vice President for Monsanto’s U.S. commercial business and a variety of other roles in her more than 25 years at Monsanto, including international roles as President of Monsanto Canada, Vice President of Seeds & Traits and International Product Management. Known as a champion for diversity and inclusion, Lisa has been recognized as Woman of the Year by the National Association of Professional Women and as a Leader of Distinction by the YWCA of Metro St. Louis. Lisa also is highly engaged in advancing business and agriculture, serving on the executive board of directors for CropLife America and the advisory board for Saint Louis University’s Boeing Institute of International Business. She also has completed the G100 Next Generation Leadership Program. Lisa holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Masters of Business Administration degree from Southern Illinois University. She lives in O’Fallon, Illinois, with her husband and three children and is an active volunteer in her community and church.
