The author of more than 30 scientific publications and holder of 10 patents, Dr. Martinez is an assistant professor who leads the Flexilab research group at the School of Industrial Engineering and the Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering. Dr. Martinez grew up in Madrid, where he received a degree in Applied Physics from the Universidad Aut&oactue;noma de Madrid. He moved on to the Ph.D. program at the Spanish National Research Council, working in collaboration with Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Department of Material Science and Engineering. He has been awarded a Fulbright Fellowship and the Marie Curie IOF grant for his postdoctoral work at Harvard University as a teaching fellow at the Science Center there.
