John Lucaites

Lucaites was a member of the faculty at Indiana University for 30 years, teaching a range of courses, including argumentation and public advocacy, rhetoric and democracy in classical Athens, the in/visibility of war, and rhetoric and judgment. He has authored or co-authored numerous books and articles including Crafting Equality: America’s Anglo-African Word, No Caption Needed: Iconic Photographs, Public Culture, and Liberal Democracy, and The Public Image: Photography and Civic Spectatorship. He is most recently the co-editor of In/Visible War: The Culture of War in 21st-Century America.
