Bryan Thoet has an extensive background in the world of malt and hops for the brewing industry. He has worked with Great Western Malting (now ConAgra Malt) for 26 years and began working with craft brewers in 1982 by establishing small volume shipping capabilities, reliable shipping schedules, and was instrumental in establishing the specialty product roasthouse in Vancouver, Washington. As VP of Sales for ConAgra Malt, he managed the sales activities throughout North America and Southeast Asia. In 2004, he assumed the President/CEO position for Yakima Chief Hops, and was responsible for reorganizing the business.This was a very turbulent time for the hop industry and we learned a great deal about patience, as excess inventories turned into shortages and panic buying created challenges for all. He was then hired by the Coleman Family in 2013 as President/CEO to merge three business entities into one operating unit – ColemanAg, Inc. His major focus was the expansion of hop acreage and the challenges of growing 20+ different varieties. He also joined the Hop Research Council as Co-Technical Director in 2017.
