Mike Staun
Associate Director of Construction
Procter and Gamble

Mike Staun is Procter & Gamble’s Engineering AD for Global Capital Management. He is responsible for ensuring the Company’s $3.5 billion annual capital budget is spent wisely and effectively. Mike knows that for P&G to win versus competition they need greater value from their capital investments. That’s why he’s championing Lean Integrated Project Delivery (IPD). P&G’s Lean IPD efforts began in earnest with the first of 15 pilot projects in July 2016. Fifteen months later, P&G signed its first multi-party IFOA. Mike sees all major P&G projects eventually being done under a Master IFOA with trusted Engineering & Construction partners following Lean principles and practices. The 7 practices that his Capital Management Leadership Team have identified as “Essential” are (1) Partner Selection, (2) Collaborative Design Sessions, (3) Big Room, (4) Conditions of Satisfaction, (5) Target Value Design, (6) Last Planner® System, and (7) IPD Agreement. A key emphasis in P&G’s approach is to not “Procterize” things. This allows P&G to take advantage of industry available training, facilitators, and contracts. It also eliminates the waste partners would incur translating and deciphering P&G’s lingo. In Mike’s 35 years at P&G, he’s had numerous engineering and manufacturing assignments in the Company’s Food & Beverage, Beauty, Health Care, Oral Care, and Fabric & Home Care businesses. Mike graduated from Cornell University with a BSME, M.Eng. and MBA. He was also a 3-year starter for the football team and a recipient of the Lester B. Knight M.Eng.- MBA Scholarship. Mike is a certified Corporate Athlete trainer and strives to model its philosophy of being fully engaged and energized for the things that matter most, which for Mike includes faith, family & friends, health & happiness, and Touching & Improving Lives.
