Gwynn B. Sullivan, MSN, currently serves as Project Director for the National Coalition for Hospice and Palliative Care to lead the development and dissemination of the National Consensus Project Clinical Practice Guidelines for Quality Palliative Care, 4th edition, funded by the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation. Gwynn formerly served as Senior Director of Access with the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization where she was responsible for developing national outreach initiatives and resources that included pediatrics, Veterans, diversity, consumer engagement. Additionally, Gwynn directed the program expansion and re-branding of the Foundation for Hospices in Sub-Saharan Africa (FHSSA), now known as Global Partners in Care. Her role led to NHPCO receiving the American Society of Association Executives ‘Power of A’ Summit Award for the We Honor Veterans program, as well as Global Partners in Care receiving the American Society of Association Executives ‘Power of A’ Gold Award, both in 2015. In addition, Gwynn previously served as Director for The Carolinas Center for Hospice and End of Life Care and was responsible for developing statewide initiatives to improve end-of-life care which received an “Award of Excellence” from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. Gwynn also held an adjunct appointment at the Duke University School of Nursing; and served as as faculty for the ‘Being with Dying: Professional Training Program in Contemplative End-of-Life Care’ at the Upaya Institute for 10 years.
