Laurie Miller graduated from The University of Texas McCombs School of Business in 1985 with a BBA in Marketing. After working for over 20 years as Vice President in her family’s giftware business, in 2006 she founded Apple Care and Companion, a Dallas non-medical home care agency. Laurie is a hands on owner and the current Administrator. She has held every position in the company including President, Marketing Director, Payroll Manager, HR Director, Scheduling Manager and Caregiver. Laurie has been an active member of the Dallas Area Gerontological Society, has been a Board member since 2008 and served two terms as President from 2013-2016. She cofounded and organized the Dallas Compassion Fatigue Symposium 2012, 2013 and 2014. In 2013, Laurie cofounded the iACT Summit (Innovation in Aging, Caregiving and Technology) In 2018, Laurie joined the Advisory Board of Therapy Hive. (www.therapyhive.com) She recently started a grassroots initiative called Conversation Ready NTX (www.ConversationReadyNTX.com) whose mission is to get people talking about their end-of-life care wishes.
