Dr. Ashot Sargsyan, short bio for SpaceCom 2018 After receiving his medical degree from the Yerevan State Medical University (1981), Dr. Sargsyan specialized in internal medicine and diagnostic radiology. In his early career, he championed broad implementation of ultrasonography in Armenia, as well as managed three NASA-sponsored Telemedicine Spacebridge projects in Armenia and Russia. Dr. Sargsyan joined the U.S. space program in 1996 to provide medical imaging, telemedicine, and international systems expertise to the evolving Space Station program. He currently serves as the International Medical Liaison with KBRwyle at the NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston. His current operational and research interests include medical systems and solutions for limited-resource environments.
