Dr. Etop Esen is Commercial Innovation Manager, Remote Sensing and Aerospace at the Center for the Advancement of Science in Space (CASIS) where he drives the development and application of space-based remote sensing technology into a variety of industries including oil and gas, marine and agriculture. Prior to CASIS Esen had over two decades of experience in the oil and gas industry with domestic and international positions in research and development, downstream refining, upstream business development and corporate project authorization with ConocoPhillips, and as an independent project consultant. His current areas of focus include International Space Station (ISS) remote sensing applications to oil and gas operations, greenhouse gas detection and measurement, and ocean debris detection. He received his doctorate degree in chemical engineering from Clarkson University in Potsdam, New York.
