Over the past 18 years at the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago, Director of Exhibitions Jaap Hoogstraten has been involved with revitalizing over 100,000 square feet of permanent exhibitions; involved with over 120 projects; launched the outbound traveling exhibitions program; and iterated the ticketed temporary exhibitions program into an attendance driving profit center. As Director of Exhibitions he is responsible for the development, design and production of all exhibition projects, temporary and permanent. Founded during the World’s Fair of 1893, The Field is one of the largest natural history museums in the world with approximately 40 millions items in the collection, and between 1.3 and 1.5 million visitors per year.
