John Senter Jr. joined the University of Pittsburgh athletic department in August of 2022 as the Assistant Athletic Director of Business & Finance. In his current role, Senter manages the day-to-day operations of the business office. Prior to Pitt, Senter spent almost two years at Virginia Commonwealth University as the Assistant Athletic Director for Business Services. While at VCU, he facilitated the adoption of a new travel service, administered a new payment process for Officials, implemented an electronic per diem program for all its 17 sports and assisted with the day-to-day operations of the business office. Previously, Senter served as the Director of Business Operations at Providence College from 2019-2021 and a Sales Representative for Kraft Heinz (2018) and adidas (2017). Senter graduated from the University of Akron with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and master’s degree in Sports Administration. He was a 4-year letter winner on the football team and helped the team achieve its first bowl win in school history. He also served as a Graduate Assistant in the University of Akron athletics business office. A Dayton, OH native, Senter resides in Plum, PA.
