Brendan Armitage
Senior Associate Athletics Director for Compliance
University of South Florida
Brendan Armitage is the Senior Associate Athletics Director for Compliance at the University of South Florida, where he has led the compliance office since 2017. With more than two decades of experience in NCAA compliance and athletics administration, he plays a central role in guiding USF’s regulatory strategy and supporting its 20-sport varsity program. Brendan is also the sport administrator for men’s and women’s tennis and women’s sailing, working closely with coaches and student-athletes on program development, operations, and long-term planning. Before arriving at USF, Brendan held compliance roles at Indiana, UCF, Kansas State, Maryland, and the Western Athletic Conference, gaining experience across Power Five, Group of Five, and conference-level environments. He is an advocate for service-oriented compliance, having redesigned USF’s approach by introducing a sport liaison model that has since been adopted across the department. Brendan remains actively involved in conference and institutional governance and is a longtime member of NAAC. He lives in Apollo Beach, Florida, and is the proud dad of a 10-year-old daughter, Braelyn.
