Program Executive Office Enterprise Information Systems (PEO EIS)
Mr. Manish Patel assumed the role of Chief Information Officer (CIO), Program Executive Office Enterprise Information Systems (PEO EIS). February 1, 2016. As CIO, he is responsible for ensuring cyber security awareness & compliance, establishing enterprise network and system architectures, advancing new information technologies, and performing strategic planning to support all the programs in the PEO EIS acquisition portfolio. This portfolio includes the Business, Warfighting and Enterprise Information Environment Mission Areas that execute over $4 billion per year. Mr. Patel served as the Deputy CIO since March 2011, so he is well-versed with the diverse PEO EIS portfolio as well as PEO EIS’s role in the Army’s Network Modernization initiative. Prior to arriving at PEO headquarters, Mr. Patel served as the Deputy Director and then Director of the Information Technology Project Office-Pentagon Renovation from Aug 2005 to March 2011. As Director, he was responsible for the renovation and modernization of the Pentagon’s information technology systems and infrastructure as part of the overall Pentagon Renovation effort. He oversaw the completion of the final phase of this renovation, completed two years ahead of its original schedule. Prior to the Pentagon Renovation program, Mr. Patel worked in various special assignments. He led radio waveform acquisitions in the Joint Tactical Radio (JTRS) Joint Program Office (JPO), and he was also a lead C4ISR engineer and analyst in the Army’s Objective Force Task Force. From 1990-2000, Mr. Patel worked at Fort Monmouth for the program office now known as PD WESS. There he helped spearhead the architecture and implementation of the Standardized Tactical Entry Point (STEP) sites used globally by tactical forces to obtain DISN services. He also collaborated with DISA and other stakeholders to evolve the STEP program into the Teleport concept which incorporated commercial SATCOM capabilities.
