Sherry Linville was appointed to her current position as an Administrative Judge with the U.S. Merit Systems Protection Board (Board) in January 2009. She has served as a judge in both the Atlanta Regional Office and the Washington Regional Office. She also is a Board certified mediator, trained by the National Judicial College and the Justice Center of Atlanta. In addition to her normal caseload, she serves as a mediator in the Board’s Mediation Appeals Program and mediates approximately 10 to 20 appeals per year. Prior to her appointment to the Board, Judge Linville worked for the U.S. Postal Service as an attorney specializing in labor and employment law. Prior to her employment with the Postal Service, Judge Linville was a Senior Associate with the New Orleans law firm of Milling, Benson & Woodward, specializing in labor and employment law. While in private practice, Judge Linville represented employers such as Bally’s Casino, Tulane University and KCS Railroad. Judge Linville is a member of the Georgia Bar Association and is a graduate of the University of Alabama and Louisiana State University.
