Laing Middle School of Science and Technology (S.C.)


Dr. Mel Goodwin earned his PhD degree from the University of Toronto, and has authored more than 400 lesson plans for middle and high school classes on ocean science subjects for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. He is STEM Coach at Laing Middle School of Science and Technology, which in January 2017 was recognized as the top STEM middle school in the U.S. by the Future Educational Technology Conference. In this capacity, he is responsible for leading the school's faculty in developing innovative curricula that use STEM tools to enhance daily instruction in core subjects, and for providing technical support to students and faculty with implementing these curricula.
