Doug Fields has been in education for 16 years. Twelve of which were as a high school history teacher and the past four he has been a secondary school principal in Fordland Missouri. As a classroom teacher he was a leader in bringing a 1:1 incentive to his district. As an administrator, he has not only been a part of a team that has brought a district to the technology forefront, but has helped bring about a paradigm shift to focus more on personalized learning. These initiatives have help lead his school to being named one of the top 15 schools in the state of Missouri by US News and World Reports. As an educator that has dedicated his entire career to rural schools, he understands the difficulties of incorporating personalized learning in smaller, economically challenged, and technology depressed communities.
