Rachmat Sutiono began his business in 1980 while travelling to many other parts of the world. He initiated an idea to build a company focused on family entertainment in the amusement industry, by operating just a few small rides, kiddie rides and video games in Jakarta. He then expanded the business by adding carnival equipment and travelling amusement rides. He currently owns and operates more than 150 amusement facilities throughout the Indonesian archipelago, including small parks, both outdoor and indoor of FEC (Family Entertainment Center).The company currently has more than 2,500 employees and under affiliation with Funworld group, the total number of employees reach 4,500 people, with 250 amusement facilities. He was a former Board of Directors in WWA (World Waterpark Association), from 2006-2012; and a former Board Member and Chairman of Asia Pacific Advisory Committee in IAAPA (International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions). He also built a school dedicated to less fortunate children in Jakarta. Sutiono built and operated the first waterpark in Indonesia, and is now actively involved in the planning, consultation, construction and supply in almost all of the waterpark projects in Indonesia, as well as managing and advising about safety. He advises many new unfamiliar amusement park investors, manufacturers and suppliers about the business customs of Asia in general and of Indonesia specifically; while also promoting the WWA to potential park operator members, both domestically and in other Asian countries, thus gaining new members. Sutiono organizes the Fun Asia Expo , the largest theme park, waterpark and attraction Expo in Indonesia and conducts seminars about safety operation in FEC, theme parks and waterparks.
