Darrell Metzger has spent over 30 years living and working in Asia, the Middle East and the Pacific Rim. He brings with him the experience and successful track record in the development and operations of leisure, resort and residential properties. Darrell’s career began with Disney in their California Resorts and culminated in executive positions in Disney’s first foray into the international market, Tokyo Disney Resort. Following a decade with Disney, Darrell assumed the role of CEO for Ocean Park Hong Kong, where he created and implemented a US$100 million strategic expansion which quickly doubled profits and visitorship. He subsequently became CEO of Sentosa Island Resort, Singapore where he implemented a US$10 billion development of the iconic destination resort which now hosts 20 million annual visitors. In 2010 Darrell was appointed to the Board of Directors and Chairman of the Executive Committee for Themed Attractions Resorts & Hotels owned by Khazanah Nasional, Malaysia’s Sovereign Wealth Fund which was heavily investing in the Leisure & Tourism sector. Darrell was tasked with advising the development, operation and marketing of over US$3 billion of destination and attraction projects. Darrell has advised and played key executive roles in major events including the Los Angeles Summer Olympics and the World Expo 86 in Vancouver Canada. Since 2015 he assumed a position as Visiting Professor at the Singapore Management University, Singapore. Darrell hails from Southern California and is an MBA graduate from California State University. He is a Director of the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA), having held the Chair in 2009.
