Michael Switow covers the Asia-Pacific beat for Funworld Magazine. With two decades of experience in the region, he has written in-depth descriptive features about retail and food trends, multimedia shows, the launch of major attractions, as well as the people who drive the industry. He has also provided coverage of IAAPA’s Asian Attractions Expos and the IAAPA Attractions Expo in Orlando. After spending several years in Africa, Michael moved to Asia in 1996 to cover Hong Kong’s handover to China. He has extensive experience working in radio, television and the internet, as well as print media, and is an accomplished public speaker and moderator. In addition to the attractions industry, Michael writes about a broad range of topics, including human resources, leadership, politics, culture and travel. He also works with clients to help them better tell their stories. While Michael considers Singapore home, he was born and bred in Louisville, Kentucky, and has even contributed the occasional piece to Funworld from his native state while visiting it on holiday. Michael earned a Masters in Public Affairs from Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School. When he’s not writing, he is a passionate activist and the founder of an organisation called ONE (SINGAPORE) that is committed to Make Poverty History
