Tonya Lanthier began her career as a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) in the Atlanta area in 1995. When she became a mother, she worked in multiple temp positions, rather than in a full-time role. She faced unique challenges in looking for work while managing a job and family life. Through extensive networking and temping as a hygienist, Ms. Lanthier saw a void in the dental industry employment and communications. She then created an on-line and mobile job board where dental professionals connect and build teams. Ms. Lanthier saw the need for an easy-to-use, online employment gateway for the dental field. She started what is now DentalPost.net in 2005. Since then, DentalPost has grown into the leading dental industry job board, serving more than 550,000 dental professionals and more than 26,000 dental offices. DentalPost sets itself apart by offering personality and culture assessments to find a better match for employment. They also provide ongoing career and industry updates, as well as notification of continuing education opportunities. Ms. Lanthier — a member of the American Dental Hygienists Association (ADHA), Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO) and a volunteer at several charitable organizations — speaks at popular dental conferences. She also speaks to dental hygienist students, and coaches job seekers in their careers. Ms. Lanthier continues to work as a Registered Dental Hygienist to gain new insights and knowledge she can use to help others in their job searches or practice management.
